Event Description

The Georgia Master Gardener Volunteer Program is an educational program offered through county offices of the Georgia Cooperative Extension. Through this program individuals are trained and certified in horticulture and related areas. These individuals, in turn, volunteer their expertise and services, under the direction of their County Extension Agent, to help others through horticultural projects that benefit the community. The Master Gardener Volunteer Program requires participants, in exchange for the training, to return 50 hours of volunteer service within the first year on projects that benefit their communities.

If interested, Please reply no later than 5:00 pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.

The next local training program will begin on March 6, 2012 and run through May 9, 2012.
Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with field trips and homeowner visits planned for 4 Wednesdays during this time (these dates will be given on the first day of class). Classes are held at 125 Pine Avenue in Albany. The cost of the program is $130.00. This covers all class expenses, including the Master Gardener Handbook, Master Gardener Name Badge, Master Gardener Certificate, and a one year membership in the Georgia Master Gardener Association (GMGA).
